Kings Award

KentARA (Kent Active Retirement Association) was awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2025 for their outstanding work supporting people over 55.

As the highest honour for UK voluntary groups, equivalent to an MBE, this award recognises the efforts of 76 committees and 8,600 members in reducing isolation through social activities.  HadARA always being very prominent in these activities.

Significance: Equivalent to an MBE, this lifetime award highlights the dedication of KentARA’s volunteers.

Impact: The organisation manages 76 clubs, organising events, trips, and activities for thousands of members.

Recognition: The award was officially announced in November 2025. 

The award recognises the extensive, volunteer-run efforts of the Kent Active Retirement Association (KentARA) to foster community engagement and support for seniors.
